There are multitudes of people who believe in the message of the gospel, but it takes a special gift to passionately articulate God's truth in a way that truly impacts lives. Alicia Williamson Garcia has that ability. "The heart of our ministry is the Word of God. God has given us music to open the heart and His infallible Word to fill the heart and change a life. “Worship, in its total essence is a response to the truth, not a reaction to circumstances," says Alicia. Blending articulate communication with heartfelt emotion, Alicia reaches her audiences with a clear knowledge of the gospel and a genuine desire to see lives changed by the Lord Jesus Christ.
A native of Florence, S.C., Alicia began singing in the church at age 5. When she was 7, she trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior while listening to her father's first sermon. Alicia graduated from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C., with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. After college she traveled six years with the contemporary Christian group TRUTH, where she first recorded her signature song, "There Is a Hope." Alicia began her ministry in 1993 and is now predominantly speaking to Christian women’s audiences, and leading congregations in true worship.
Not only an accomplished singer/songwriter, Alicia is also emerging as a prominent Bible teacher, Keynote speaker, and television host.
Over the last few years God has opened the door for Alicia to partner with several other ministries. "As I have quieted myself and have purposely set aside time to study the Word of God, He has opened doors for me that I could never open myself," she explains. Some of these ministries include Precept Ministries, The Brooklyn Tabernacle, Dr. Tony Evans of the Urban Alternative, Women of Faith, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, INSP, CBN, In Touch with Charles Stanley, The Gaither Homecoming and Food For the Hungry.
Alicia has recorded several CDs: "Alicia," "There Is a Hope," "The Rescue," "Faithful Heart," "Praise and Worship", and "We Win”. Alicia newest project is a DVD, recorded at the Inspirational Networks Studio (INSP), LIVE in Worship – Alicia Williamson Garcia.
Teaching Old and New Testament Principles of Worship and Creative Worship, Alicia is a faculty member at the Center for Worship at Liberty University. Alicia also serves as Artist-in-Residence at Liberty University and Thomas Road Baptist Church.
